Terms of the database audit

1. The service

The Five-Day Database Audit is a review of one production PostgreSQL or SQL Server database cluster (one primary and its replicas), carried out from a bundle of statistics and metadata that you collect with our read-only script.

You receive:

• a report in PDF, ranked by risk, in which each finding states what it is, why it matters, the fix and the expected gain;
• SQL scripts for the fixes the report recommends;
• a 90-day plan;
• a walkthrough video of about 10 minutes;
• two weeks of questions by email, starting on the day of delivery.

Outside the service: access to your systems, managed DBA work, applying the fixes, and migrations. We can quote these separately, at a fixed price, if you ask.

2. How the contract is made

The contract starts when you pay the Stripe link we send you. If we have also exchanged a written proposal, the proposal and these terms together form the contract; where they differ, the proposal prevails.

3. Price and payment

The price is 3,900 USD, or 3,400 EUR for clients in the EU, unless a written proposal states another price. Payment is due in full before work starts. We issue an invoice from Italy with our VAT number. The price is fixed: no hourly charges, no extras for the scope in section 1.

4. Your part

You run the script with a read-only role, review the archive, and send it to us encrypted. You confirm that you are entitled to share its contents with us. If the bundle is incomplete, we tell you what is missing within one business day.

5. Delivery

We deliver within five business days of the day a complete bundle reaches us. Business days are Monday to Friday, excluding Italian public holidays. If a bundle arrives incomplete, the five days start when the missing part arrives.

6. The guarantee

If the report contains fewer than five fixes you can apply, we refund the full price. Ask within 30 days of delivery. A fix counts as applicable when it is specific to your database, comes with the steps or script to carry it out, and needs no access or product that you told us you cannot use. The refund is your only remedy for a report that does not meet this test.

7. Confidentiality and data

We keep confidential everything you send us and everything we learn about your systems, during the audit and for five years after it. We use it only to write your report.

The script collects no row data and no credentials. We store the bundle in Italy and delete it 30 days after delivery; we confirm the deletion in writing on request. Part of the analysis runs through the API of Anthropic (United States), under commercial terms that exclude training on customer data. Our privacy notice lists every provider we use. If the bundle contains personal data, we process it on your behalf, and we sign a data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR on request.

8. Ownership

The report, the scripts and the plan are yours to use, change and share inside your business, without limit of time. We keep the rights to our collection scripts, templates, methods and general know-how, and we may reuse what we learn in general form, never your data or anything that identifies you.

9. Liability

The report is advice. You decide which fixes to apply, and when; we recommend testing every change outside production first. We do not access or operate your systems at any point.

Our total liability under this contract is limited to the price you paid for the audit. Neither party is liable for indirect loss, lost profit or loss of data. These limits do not apply to wilful misconduct, gross negligence, or a breach of confidentiality, as Italian law provides (art. 1229 of the Civil Code).

10. Cancellation

You can cancel before you send the bundle and receive a full refund. Once the bundle reaches us, the guarantee in section 6 replaces any other right to a refund.

11. Force majeure

Neither party is liable for a delay caused by events outside its reasonable control. We tell you as soon as such an event affects your delivery date.

12. Law and courts

These terms are governed by Italian law. Any dispute arising from them goes to the courts competent under Italian law.

13. Changes

We may update these terms for future audits. The version in force on the day you pay applies to your audit.
